Science’s View of NDEs
Science offers some explanations that make some sense yet they are rather limited
Science's View
According to some scientific viewpoints Near Death Experiences may be produced by a number of factors.
These are:
Oxygen Deprivation
Studies in the laboratory have shown that lack of oxygen can create Memory Alterations, Visual Distortions & Tunnel Vision
Caused by Drugs (medical or otherwise)
It is believed by some scientific researchers that drugs (either medicinal or produced by the body) may be responsible in producing Near Death Experiences and that these experiences are nothing more than hallucinations.
A Psychological Defence Mechanism
Many scientists believe that our fear of death is so great that our brain creates a self-preservation fantasy when approaching death. An individual detaches from a sense of self in order to avoid emotional pain or stress.
Debunking Science’s Views
All the above theories fall short of explaining all the typical events in an NDE
Science cannot explain all the typical aspects experienced in an NDE. Nor can it explain the unusual pattern of after-effects experiened by individuals who have had NDEs.
Ground Breaking Scientific Research
Recently two fascinating scientific studies into Near Death Experiences have been completed in The Netherlands and in the United Kingdom.
