If you're not using this power, you're definitely not achieving the sort of life that you could be living.

Hi, this is Mike Pettigrew, best selling author and serial entrepreneur since 1987 and I help already people achieve extraordinary goals, but probably not in the way you might think. Now in the next few minutes, I'm going to share with you the power of gratitude, the life changing power of gratitude. Because this is something I discovered at a time in my life where I lost everything. And honestly, if you're not using the power of gratitude in your own life, I'm going to share with you very specific techniques you can use. If you're not using this power, you're definitely not achieving the sort of life that you could be living. Okay? So first of all, I want to say that your thoughts and your feelings create your experiences. And you might think "What?! - how do my thoughts and my feelings create my my experiences?" Well, you know what? Your repeated thoughts create feelings of thought and feeling together do create your beliefs, your beliefs create your actions and your actions create your results.

So I'll say that again. Your thoughts and feelings really do create your experiences. Now, you might think that surely there's exceptions to this. No, they're aren't. And in fact science has already proved this and a lot of you know, people who are maybe scientists themselves may think "No, that can't be true!". Well, it is true. It just means that you may not be aware of certain experiments that have been conducted again and again and again in laboratories all around the world. Science -we're at an amazing time in science now where the all sorts of breakthroughs are taking place. We've learned more about the human brain in the last 10 years than we have in the whole history of humanity. Exciting times. But science has already proved that your mind affects physical matter and also that your emotions affect your environment and also your dominant thoughts, emotions - sorry, your dominant thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and actions create your circumstances.

And I've gone into this in several other videos. This is, as I say, is going to be a short one. So I'm not going to go into I'm not going to rehash more stuff that I've shared in other videos, but science has already proved this. So gratitude. The core of this is that gratitude acts like a magnet. And back eh a long, long time ago, I experienced a terrible situation, I had made some really bad investments. I trusted the wrong people. I lost everything. I had been very wealthy, I lost everything and I couldn't feed my wife or our little baby who had just been born and it was incredibly frightening, incredibly frightening. And I, in desperation, I just couldn't go through this anymore. When you're, when you're starving, you can't even feed your family. Extremely frightening. And I picked up a book that was written over a hundred years ago.

It was all about the power of gratitude. So I decided to, to today I called it my Crazy Gratitude Experiment. Every 30 minutes of the day I would bring up gratitude. Now you might think, how on earth can you bring up gratitude when you're suffering so much? Well, all you have to do is remember what it felt like. So you think about a time in the past where you felt deep, sincere gratitude, and you just recall that memory, that event and gratitude will start to bubble up. Even if you're going through hell right now, may take a few minutes, it may take a few minutes, but it will happen. And I did this every 30 minutes of the day. I call it my Crazy Gratitude Experiment and at the end of the first day, okay, our circumstances certainly hadn't changed, but I'd changed - how I was feeling - it was very different.

I was much more open, I was much more - much lighter. I started believing in a different way. I started thinking in different way and as I say, thought and belief affects all sorts of things. You're in fact, I think, I honestly believe our dominant thoughts and emotions affect our environment profoundly and draw into our environment all sorts of amazing synchronicities - we can draw into our environment, good things or bad things depending on our dominant thoughts and emotions. But I, you know, even though I felt different after the first day - on the third day, that's when the coincidences in my external world started happening. Huge incidences that transformed our situation and enabled me to become really successful again. And once again, I've talked a lot about this in earlier video, so I won't go into it in any greater depth today. But basically the synopsis of this is that gratitude and complaint are the two opposite forces that shape our future.

Gratitude and complaint. Gratitude attracts great good fortune into our lives. Resentment and complaint pushes it away. Okay? So when you activate more gratitude in your life and you'll start experiencing much greater abundance in your life, this is fact. And millions of people have tested this for themselves and it is fact. They are, their lives have changed. Now - so how do we harness the power of gratitude? Well, it's actually very, very easy. So there's, I'm going to share with you just three ways, and there are other ways, but three ways to experience more gratitude in your life. Firstly, you can try my Crazy Gratitude Experiment. If life is really, really bad right now for you, really tough; you're really suffering and you urgently need to change that - do my Crazy Gratitude Experiment. Test it for yourself every 30 minutes of the day. Think of a time in the past where you felt deep, sincere gratitude and dwell on that thought

for a couple of minutes until you feel gratitude bubbling up. And at the end of the day, one day you'll be able to spontaneously bring up gratitude. At-will, you'll be able to bring it up at will without even remembering the events in the past. Very powerful. So number two, keep a gratitude journal. Millions upon millions upon millions of people do this. They write it down in a, in a journal at the end of each day, the things that they've been grateful for that have happened during the day. And you know, it kind of, you have to force yourself to see the good in things. But it's like a flower opening. It's like a flower opening the flower of gratitude and you will feel different. You'll find you'll feel a lot more grateful all of the time, or most of the time - very powerful. But, um, studies have found that this gratitude journal, uh, technique - its better to do it three or four times, maybe five times in a week, not every single day.

Because if you do something every single day, even if you don't want to do it, it can become like a bit of a, a ritual. But if you do it less times in the week, there's more emotion and feeling that goes into it and you look forward to doing it. So sometimes less is more. So maybe four, four or five times during the week. Number three, take - every day take one gratitude action. What is a gratitude action? Express your gratitude to someone or something. Do this little, um, you make this part of your life to consciously express gratitude, to show expressions of gratitude - it might be putting your arm around someone. It might be smiling at people more. It might, I'm sure you can come up with lots of ideas, but action leads to results. When you physically do something, it just makes the whole process so much more real.

And you could do all three of these if you're like, so you know, you really, you, you will be amazed with what happens with if gratitude is not very dominant in your life. Do these things - life will become wondrous. You'll start seeing the magic around you. And you know, you often see people walking down the street and they're like that - they are staring at the ground. And that can often show - be a reflection of their perspective on life. But when you see happy, grateful people, they're not looking at the ground. They're generally like this. They see the world around them. Okay? And that makes the whole process stronger, even more gratitude. Wonderful.
