In this episode we will look at the importance of confidence and how it can enable you to get anything you want from life faster than you may have ever thought possible.

Hi, this is Mike Pettigrew - serial entrepreneur and number one Amazon bestselling author. And I have a question for you. How confident are you that you can achieve your goals? And the reason I'm asking you this is that it's been found that confidence is one of the biggest factors in enabling people to become successful. So if you're lacking in confidence and many people are, it's going to be more difficult to achieve your life's bigger goals. And confidence is something you can build even if you don't feel very confident in your abilities and your ability to create the life that you yearn for. You can create confidence, you can build confidence and it's actually easier, a lot easier than you might think. Many years ago when I was a teenager and right into my early twenties, I was very shy. I certainly didn't have confidence, but I changed that and I changed that by putting myself into challenging positions.

And because I was very shy - I wanted to shrink away from other people. And the only way to change that is to put yourself into positions - into situations that challenge your shyness. So by putting myself into situations I'd rather run away from I started to gradually build confidence and confidence is one of your greatest assets and it's very easy to build. And if you're shy or you're not sure, it doesn't matter. Whatever area of life that you don't feel confident in, you can transform that. You can change that by challenging yourself, challenging yourself, not difficult to do. If you want to build confidence in your ability to create some goal, start with a small goal. If you've never done goal setting before, you must first of all gain confidence in the ability to achieve small goals. And the great thing is when you achieve a small goal, you can then go on knowing that you can achieve something slightly bigger and you gradually stretch your life.

I'm not one to believe in suddenly going from zero to 100. No, no, no. Very few people can do that. But gradually you can build great confidence and when you do that, really anything can become possible. What was impossible for you before suddenly becomes possible. I shouldn't say suddenly becomes possible - it's a gradual process, so I would suggest if you're not familiar with goal setting, pickup a copy of my best seller, the most powerful goal achievement system in the world. Its a simple system that you can use to achieve any goal, but start with a small goal, then go onto something slightly bigger and then go onto something absolutely huge. And you don't have to do this one after another after another. You can set short term, medium term and long term goals. Obviously your short term goals in the next few months needs to be smaller goals, and your medium term goals a bit bigger.

Your longterm goals- five or 10 years in the future, can be really big - but the great thing is when you start achieving your short term goals, your confidence in your ability will grow dramatically and the door will open to all sorts of possibilities and it. It's just these baby steps, one after another that leads onto achieving your life's biggest dreams. And you can do it no matter how big your dreams are - its going to take a bit of time - it will take time, but it's so much worth the effort. On the other hand, if you don't set goals and if you don't build confidence, unfortunately there's very little you can achieve the very little things in life that you can achieve. So it all starts with goal setting because honestly, there have been studies looked at, studies in goal setting - looking at people who don't set goals and people who do set goals and long-term the difference in how their lives turn out is very different.
