And a lot of people ask me this one question - "how do high performers become that way?" So firstly, what's a high performer? Well, a high performer is someone who succeeds above and beyond standard norms consistently over the long term. I'm not talking about peak performance states. If you're an athlete, you know all about peak performance, but high performance - it's something that you can sustain. And honestly, if you look out into society, unfortunately the statistics say that 95% of people by the time they reach retirement age are just barely above the poverty line - that's terrible. When you reach retirement, that's the time you should be doing all the things - you should be fulfilling all the dreams that you had when you were younger - travelling the world and having lots of fun.
00:57 But sadly, when most people get to retirement age, it's the opposite. They face years of poverty - very, very sad. And it doesn't have to be this way. So a high-performer - becoming a high performer is really important. It's not about working crazy busy - crazy hard and burning yourself out. It's completely the opposite. So high performers are people who excel in their career, excel in any area of your life because you can bring your high performance habits into your career, your relationships, your hobbies. Every error area of your life can be enhanced by these techniques, tools and strategies that high performers use. And one of my mentors, Brendon Burchard, he created the - he is the founder of the High Performance Institute and they'd studied something like 300,000 high performers all around the world and they found these specific habits that most of them adopt. So it's, as I say, it's not about working really hard.

It's about you becoming capable - about you becoming all you're capable of becoming. So high performance is amazing and I only discovered this very late in my career. I've been an entrepreneur since I was 15, that's over 40 years. And I've only just really come across high performance habits and High Performance Training and coaching in the past five years. And it has completely transformed my life. High performance is about, as I say, succeeding above and beyond standard norms consistently over the long term. 03:22 So one simple technique is energization breaks every 60 to 90 minutes as you go through the day. So at the end of the day, instead of being burnt out, you are not burnt out. And every 90 minutes you have more energy, more focus. So you progressed through your day and all your tasks much more easily with more brainpower and aliveness.
