[00:05] developed the attitude of giving yet? Now I heard many, many years ago the saying that I just love "Giving all is gaining all". Now that may sound like self sacrifice, but that's not what I mean at all. When you develop a giving attitude, instead of, a getting attitude, then everything changes. It's the one sure way to become deeply happy and deeply fulfilled. Now, if you're already running around doing things for everyone all the time and you're denying yourself and that is not at all what I mean - that is not productive at all and you can end up feeling very disheartened and disillusioned. But for most people, if they just develop a more caring, more giving attitude, they attract into their lives all sorts of amazing possibilities.[00:59] And this is the power of gratitude. Many years ago I lost everything and I changed the situation through developing gratitude at a much deeper level than I had at any other previous time in my life. Now, when you lose everything, you don't feel particularly grateful, let me assure you that, but you know what? Your dominant thoughts and your dominant emotions create the circumstances of your life, so when I was constantly berating myself and hating myself, blaming myself, I was pushing all sorts of wonderful things away from happening, but when you develop a giving attitude, when you develop an attitude of gratitude and take yourself out of your own mind and start making efforts for the happiness of other people, your own situation improves dramatically, so I invite you to test this for yourself. Giving all is gaining all. Once again, I'm not talking about self sacrifice that is counterproductive, but just looking around you - looking around your neighborhood and your friends and work colleagues and if you see someone suffering. -[02:08] Just make some effort to brighten up their day or to be a support and it will enhance your own happiness tenfold. Happiness is a choice. Happiness is something that you choose every day, but you can enhance it when you develop a more giving attitude.
